The Ylä-Mellalampi Lean-to is 25.4 km north-west of Rovaniemi on the northern shore of the pond Ylä-Mellalampi. The log-built lean-to features a campfire site and outhouse. You can find firewood at both ends of the lean-to.

Paikalle johtavat pitkospuut ovat aika huonossa kunnossa, eivätkä aivan kartan osoittamassa paikassa, mutta jos sinulla on vedenpitävät jalkineet, pääset kyllä mainiosti perille. Ihan kiva paikka muuten.

Erittäin kaunis lampimaisema ja hyvä tulistelupaikka. Opasteena toimisi paremminkin lause "lehtikuusikon paikkeilta oikealle ja pusikon halki rantaan ja siitä vielä vähän vasemmalle"... Jalan (ja ensilumen) alla muljusi siellä täällä pitkospuiden jäänteitä. Ne kun laittaisi kuntoon, tämä olisi viiden tähden kohde nokipannukahveille :)
